  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is an outstanding bronze statue of an Austro-Hungarian soldier, likely around 1914/1915, sitting atop a bronze base. The soldier is reaching his fist outward and clutching his M95 Mannlicher rifle in his other hand. He wears a M1908 Army cap with cockade and a feather plume, with cords on his uniform. The rifle appears to have been broken off at the top, but we couldn’t find a comparable example.

The statue measures 9” tall with the base measuring 2 ½ x 6 ¼”. The side of the base is inscribed with a name, F. Jaeger, the sculptor, though we could not find much information on his work. The statue is a bit loose on the base but is in no danger of breaking. The rifle does sit basically on the ground and is a bit wobbly itself, but it looks good for display.

An outstanding Austro-Hungarian soldier’s statue, ready for further research and display.
