Original Item. Only One Available. This is a lovely Austro-Hungarian civil servant’s court sword from the Pre-WWI period, model of 1878. The sword has great mother-of-pearl grips with lovely brass fittings, one of the ferrules reading VIRIBUS UNITIS or (Latin for "With United Forces"). This was the personal motto of Emperor Franz Joseph I and the name of the Austro-Hungarian Navy's flagship, the dreadnought SMS Viribus Unitis.
The sword has a lovely 33 ¼” plated blade with some minor edge nicking and retains a red felt blade buffer. The ricasso is stamped:

Weyersberg & Stamm was a late 19th century maker that did some contract work for Bavaria and Austria-Hungary. The overall length is 38 ⅞”.
The brass-mounted steel scabbard is in great shape without any serious denting and the mounts have a lovely finish. The length is 33 ¾”.
