High Quality Reproduction Item. Very Few Available. These are reproduction German WWII-style leather binocular button flaps, properly known as Anknöpflaschen. They are intended for use with German military-style field binoculars as the small retaining attachment fitted between the binocular carrying straps and the wearer's uniform.
Each is constructed from brown leather in the characteristic elongated forked form. The two narrow upper arms terminate in reinforced buttonholes, while the broader lower section has an elongated central opening and two metal studs used to secure the flap around the binocular assembly. The leather has a smooth brown finish and cleanly cut edges. No maker, date, or acceptance markings are present.
Expect minor natural variations in leather grain, finish, and hardware may occur between individual pieces.
