Original Item. Only One Available. The NSDAP, or Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (National Socialist German Worker’s Party), was originally founded in Munich as the DAP, or Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (German Worker’s Party), on January 5 1919. When Adolf joined the DAP in the autumn of 1919 he was to reform what was basically a debating society into an active political party. Appointed as the first chairman of the party on July 29TH 1921 he was to restructure it along para-military lines in a hierarchy of four levels of government.
During the next decade, the NSDAP gradually grew in power, and in 1933 Adolf was made the Chancellor of Germany, after which he quickly consolidated power to become a true dictator. However, even after having taken over the government, additional support was always needed, as if the people completely turned against the NSDAP, nothing would be possible. As such numerous propaganda items were produced, including portrait posters like this, showing Adolf H in his NSDAP brown shirt uniform, with an NSDAP armband on his left arm. The poster measures 20 1/2" x 28 1/2", and looks to have at one time been framed using paper tape on the back, but was removed and rolled up some time ago.
This is the exact same image of der Führer used in the "Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Führer!" poster, so it is possible that this was originally one of those posters, and then cut down to fit a frame. This could explain why there is no border around the printing at all, though it is just as likely that it is simply a print of the same portrait. The poster is in very good condition, showing some age toning and minor water stains, but no major damage, and the colors are well retained. There is some light wrinkling in the surface from being rolled up, but overall it is in lovely condition considering the age.
A very good example of a rare WWII portrait poster, ready to add to your collection!
Note: Poster will ship Rolled.
