“This book describes and illustrates the history and development of the TIGER tank. With this new volume commemorating the 50th anniversary of the first service of the TIGER tank, RYTON PUBLICATIONS enters the field of military history. publishing. Several years in the making, this our first book-draws on many sources and the contributions of TIGER veterans and military historians.

The 50th anniversary of its first action provided us with an opportunity to present the history of the TIGER and its competitors in a different light, focusing as much on the men responsible for the design and combat use of the TIGER, as on the vehicle itself. In addition, the restoration of the two best-known examples of the Tiger family provided a wealth of photographic and technical data that will let the reader see more of the TIGER's design and layout than previously shown.

This work on the TIGER is but the first in a series of in-depth volumes dealing with various weapons of the Second World War. In addition, several forthcoming books in different series will address other weapons, uniforms, and equipment. Our goal is to combine historical research and technical scholarship with an accessible style of narrative presentation, and technical and photographic documentation to show the details and overall view of the subjects.

Our numerous contacts at home and abroad have led us to undertake the publication of many historical studies on the war, and we intend to present you the reader with the best results of our labors.

TIGER was written by Bruce Culver and Uwe Feist. The artwork, design, and production are by Uwe Feist, and the historical research is primarily by Uwe Feist and Bruce Culver. The authors have over 40 years of combined experience in historical research, writing and publishing.”
