Item Description

Original Item: One of a Kind Set. This British Officer's King's Crown spiked helmet dates from the era of, 1901 - 1914 the EDWARDIAN era and the first years of the GEORGE Vth era. It is from THE EAST SURREY REGIMENT, raised in 1702 as the 70th Regiment of Foot and being renamed in the Childer's Reforms to being renamed as the East Surrey Regiment in 1881.The Regiment partook in the Peninsular Campaign under Wellington and went on to serve throughout Asian Colonies in the Victorian era and the Boer War and in WW1 and WW2.

This helmet is NAMED on a brass plaque attached to its original storage tin:

The helmet, known as a Blue Cloth helmet has all of its Gilt brass mounts including the Regimental Gilded Helmet Plate bearing the Regiment's "CASTLE KEEP" insignia to center. The set comes with SECOND LIEUTENANT DENNYS' Red Regimental Tunic bearing all the correct Regimental insignia, together with his Regimental Officer's belt buckle mounted onto a buff leather white belt.

All in excellent condition, a set with great research potential!
