Original Item: Only One Available. Recently purchased at a militaria show, is this genuine USGI bring back German WWII NSDAP Podium banner, which is definitely a bit different than most. These are usually made with a white fabric border and fringe, however this example has a gold bullion border with bullion tassels! Definitely an example that must have seen use during important party functions!

The National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, abbreviated NSDAP), commonly known in English as the NSDAP Party, was a political party in Germany between 1919 and 1945. It was known as the German Workers' Party (DAP) before the name was changed in 1920. The party's last leader, Adolf AH, was appointed Chancellor of Germany by president Paul von Hindenburg in 1933. AH rapidly established a totalitarian regime known as the Third Reich.

The banner is single sided and of multi-piece construction, with a printed black swas (hook cross) sewn on on a white canvas circle (one piece) stitched onto the red cotton background. Around this is a stitched on gold bullion border in a square shape with cutoff corners. The bottom of the banner looks to originally have had 5 gold bullion tassels, 3 of which are still present. It measures 57 ½" x 43", not counting the fringe on the bottom. There are no hanger rings at the top, but there are some "corner sleeves" that probably were used on the top of the banner to secure it around the corners or the podium

The banner is offered salty service used condition, looking to have seen long use during the NSDAP period. The front of the banner has had the red field fade significantly, while the rear is still the original vibrant red. Both sides show staining from water and use. It also has had the gold bullion border deteriorate quite a bit, with the stitching missing in a lot of areas, and the bullion itself fraying significantly.
