Original German WWII NSDAP Gauleitung Level Hauptbereichleiter Collar Tab
Original Item: Only One Available. Here we have a very nice NSDAP Kreisleitung (Region Leadership) Level Kragenpatte (Collar Flap), which looks to be the left side version. There would normally be a right and left side pair attached to the collar of the NSDAP uniform to indicate their position within the organization. This collar tab indicates that the wearer is a Hauptbereichleiter (Head Region Leader) member of the NSDAP. The tab is a parallelogram with sides measuring approximately 2 1/2" x 1 3/4".
The tab is made from a bright red velvet material over a buckram stiffener, and has dark red piping around the outside, correct for Gau (Region - State) level. It has a right facing Reichsadler (National Eagle) at the top, over a two oak leaf device with two acorns at the bottom. Below this are two rows of oak leaves. All of these were originally gilt, however time has led the Zinc Alloy to oxidize, removing the gilding completely from the two oak leaves in the middle. The eagle still retains about 40% of the gilding, while the oak leaf rows are both over 80%.
Condition is very good, with the fabric in great shape with bright colors. The metal components have the missing gilding mentioned before, and do show some oxidation due to age. This is more pronounced on the prongs on the back. It looks like ;the right prong from the central device has been lost.
A very nice of NSDAP Region Levelinsignia, ready to add to your collection!
