Original Item. Only One Available. This is a great lof of 2 WWII German “Tinnie” badges. "Tinnies" (Veranstaltungsabzeichen - Event Badge) are small commemorative pins or medals, acquired when one attended a specific event held in Germany. They were often made of thin stamped metal, bakelite, or even pressed paper. This set consists of two tinnie pins:
- 1933, 4th June 1933 Gau Thüringen - Erfurt Meeting Badge Tinnie. It is constructed out of a die stamped nickel-silver base that has been chemically burnished. The obverse features a large right facing eagle with its left wing pointing horizontally, its right wing downward, its tail feathers coming out the bottom left and is clutching, in its talons, a stagnant swas with a six spoked wheel and “Thür-” (to the top portion), “Gau Treffen” (center) and “Erfurt 4.6.33.” (bottom). The hollow back reverse features a horizontally soldered-on pin, hinge, and catch assembly.
- 1933 Gau Mittelfranken National Socialist Officials Meeting Badge Tinnie. This is a public officials assembly tinnie made of non-ferrous, stamped sheet metal with a silver paint wash. There is a pin-back fastening device intact to the reverse. The obverse features a large right facing eagle with its left wing pointing horizontally, its right wing downward, its tail feathers coming out the bottom left and is clutching, in its talons, a stagnant swas. Under this it reads N.S. BEAMTEN-KUNDGEBUNG NÜRNBERG 1933 (National Socialist Civil Servants Rally Nuremberg 1933). The hollow back reverse features a diagonally soldered-on pin, hinge, and catch assembly.
A great pair of scarce tinnies, ready for further research and display!
