Original Item: Only one available. This is an excellent condition M1 Garand rigid leather scabbard by Boyt Harness Company. The scabbard is clearly marked with a nice deep and crisp “US”, “BOYT” and “42” (1942) stamp. This example is in excellent condition, with the leather being supple and pliable, and retaining much of its original rich russet color. The stitching is complete, all rivets present, leather final cap intact, and roughly 90% of the original black paint on the cocking lever guard is intact. The leather securing strapsare intact, with the snap hooks having a good amount of original paint as well. Measures approximately 30 inches in overall length.
These scabbards were used to attach to Jeeps, motorcycles, horses and other transportation equipment. This kept the rifle at the ready, while also keeping it well secured and protected. This fine example is marked:
