Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice lightly used example of a Prison (Penal) service officials belt buckle, constructed from gilt brass. The design features a round Lauren Leaf wreath with a bow at the bottom, with a police style NSDAP eagle in the center, holding a sword with one foot and lighting bolts with another. From what we can find out, this design was also used by the Prussian State forestry service for a while. The buckle was available in two colors, silver for Justice officials and gold for Prison Officials.
The buckle is marked on the back catch with St. & L. for Steinhauer & Lück of Lüdenscheid, a known manufacturer of these buckles. It is in very good condition, showing much of the original gilding, and only light wear. The left clasp end of this buckle is however from a different type of buckle, most likely a Justice official's belt, as it is silver.
A hard to find belt buckle from the NSDAP period in Germany. Ready to add to your collection!
