The 20 mm M99 TP cartridge is used for training, gun testing, and gull system function tests. It contains a hollow, inert projectile with a cavity for control. These rounds are all inert with deactivated primers and are in total compliance per the BATF regulations governing Ordnance.

Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are not considered NFA weapons. The rounds are wartime dated for both WWII and the Korean War. They are in wonderful condition with complete headstamp markings and drive band markings which identifies the rounds as being an M99 TP.

20 mm caliber is a specific size of popular autocannon ammunition. The dividing line between smaller-caliber weapons, commonly called "guns", from larger-caliber "cannons" (e.g. machine gun vs. autocannon), is conventionally taken to be the 20 mm round, the smallest caliber of autocannon.
