Original German WWII Set of 3 Inert 20mm MG 151 Aircraft Autocannon Rounds in Belt Links

Item Description

Original Items: Only One Set of 3 Available. This is a lovely set of 3 German inert 20mm rounds for the MG 151/20 aircraft auto-cannon, as used by the Luftwaffe during WWII. Each is made up up of an original projectile and steel shell casing, and are held in belt links. These are completely void of any explosive content and are not able to be used as explosive devices. The rounds are in compliance with the current BATF standards on inert ordnance.

Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are not considered NFA weapons. This example is in total compliance and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.

The MG 151 (MG 151/15) was a German 15 mm aircraft-mounted autocannon produced by Waffenfabrik Mauser during World War II. Its 20mm variant, the 20 mm MG 151/20 cannon, was widely used on German Luftwaffe fighters, night fighters, fighter-bombers, bombers and ground-attack aircraft. Salvaged guns saw post-war use by other nations.

The autocannon used a wide variety of ammunition types depending on the type of airplane it was being used in, as well as whether they were used in night or day operations. The round with the yellow projectile is most likely High Explosive, while the blue should be incendiary, and the black round without a fuze is armor piercing with an incendiary effect. Each round measures approximately 5 3/4 inches in length.

A wonderful set that comes more than ready for further research and display.
