  • Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a really gorgeous German artillery shell which has been adorned on one side with the GOTT MIT UNS emblem off of a German belt buckle, as well as three German “Pfenning” coins and seven buttons. Like all deactivated ordnance, this shell is Not Available for Export.

The bottom of the shell reads:

    st
    29
    POLTE
    SEPT. 1909
    MAGDEBURG
    (CROWN)
    11

This is certainly an earlier manufactured shell than World War I, but it would have been used just the same. The shell measures 9” tall with a 3½” base diameter. The buttons include a German Imperial uniform button and a WWII Kriegsmarine button, alluding that this may have been put together post-war.

A great piece of trench art, ready for further research and display.
