  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is an incredible World War Two M1 Garand Rifle cutaway USGI classroom non-functional enlarged training model. Oversized measuring approximately 86" in length and constructed of cast aluminum, this is a classroom demonstrator of the famous M1 Garand Semi-Automatic Rifle for educating soldiers during WW2 on the inner workings and operation of the rifle, including the bolt operation, feeding, ejection, etc.

These rifles would actually "function" when bolt is cycled, demonstrating the bolt working, and had red paint to highlight areas where the stock has been cut away to show the internals. This example is in great display condition, made mostly from aluminum, and looks to be complete, and still functions! It may have some past repairs, but the correct areas are painted red to show the “cutaway”, and the bolt cycles. The trigger even fires!

    A truly impressive display piece!

The M1 Garand or M1 rifle is a semi-automatic rifle that was the service rifle of the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. The rifle is chambered for the .30-06 Springfield cartridge and is named after its Canadian-American designer, John Garand. It was the first standard-issue autoloading rifle for the United States. By most accounts, the M1 rifle performed well. General George S. Patton called it "the greatest battle implement ever devised". The M1 replaced the bolt-action M1903 Springfield as the U.S.' service rifle in 1936, and was itself replaced by the selective-fire M14 rifle on March 26, 1958.
