Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice WWII Era small bowie knife, made by Kinfolks. This is typical of the type of private purchase knife many soldiers would take into the field for defense and utility. This example measures 9" overall and has a Clip-point "Bowie" blade that is now 5" long. Looking at the amount of sharpening that the knife edge has had, it may have at one point been closer to 5 1/2" inches long.
The knife is equipped with lovely "jigged bone" type grip plates, which are in wonderful condition. The blade ricasso is correctly marked Kinfolks / U.S.A.. Blade condition shows wear and use, with some past pitting. The edge however is still quite sharp.
The knife comes complete with its original leather scabbard with leather belt loop and simple securing strap. There is an E/A monogram or maker mark at the bottom of the scabbard.

Kinfolks was incorporated in Little Valley, New York, on November 4, 1926 by three cousins: Russ Case of WR Case & Sons Cutlery, Tint Champlin of Cattaraugus Cutlery, and Dean J. Case. Construction of the factory began in 1927 while Dean recruited master cutlers. Kinfolks was formed to produce razors and fixed blade knives for both Cutleries. Dean J eventually bought the majority of Kinfolks stock.
The company was a U.S. Military contractor during WWII, producing early blade marked M3 knives. They were not a major contractor, so military issue knives with their marking are quite rare.
