Original Item: Only One Available. Well this is something that we have only had once before! Most are familiar with the large 37mm Signal Flare pistols made by International Flare-Signal Co., but this is a much smaller "M2" model, with a frame and 2 1/4" "barrel" made entirely of brass. Instead of having a breech that opens, the flare on these are muzzle loaded, with the rim of the casing held in place by a brass latch on the left side of the pistol. Also unlike the larger version, these are double action, and even have a grip safety. They were designed for "Driggs-Faber" type 2 inch long flares, about 37mm in diameter.
The pistol is marked on the right side with the model information:

These look to be Army type markings, but this could have also been used by the Navy. The bakelite grip scales give the full manufacturer information:

The pistol measures about 7 inches tall, and 5 inches long. It is in very good overall condition, in complete working order with firing pin still present, though it is worn down.
