This is a fantastic & scarce Subcaliber Firing Device set in its original transport case with its original manual. Properly, it is composed of the Subcaliber Firing Devices 75mm Recoiless Rifle, M20 Device 3-F-9, and 57mm Recoiless Rifle, M18 Device 3-F-10. The original transport case measures 29¼ x 6¼ x 5½”. The case has some condition issues due to the weight of the round, with some cracking at the ends and weakness in the hinges.

The set consists of the cartridge, case, fuze, .30 Caliber barrel, adapter, etc in its original carrying case. The manual depicts multiple visuals that better describe how the set functions.

The original manual is in great condition and dates the set to 1953. Also included is a special devices maintenance report and return postage, a set of cleaning rods and tools. The data tag on the top of the box reads:

    M20 recoilless rifle
The M20 recoilless rifle is a U.S. 75 mm caliber recoilless rifle T21E12 that was used during the last months of the Second World War and extensively during the Korean War. It could be fired from an M1917A1 .30 caliber machine gun tripod, or from a vehicle mount, typically a Jeep. Its shaped charge warhead, also known as HEAT, was capable of penetrating 100 mm of armor. Although the weapon proved ineffective against the T-34 tank during the Korean War and most other tanks, it was used primarily as a close infantry support weapon to engage all types of targets including infantry and lightly armored vehicles. The M20 proved useful against pillboxes and other types of field fortifications.
