Item Description

Original Item: One of a Kind. The Panzerfaust 60 gross ("large") or Faustpatrone (Translated literally to mean: Tank Fist Large) was the third version of the Panzerfaust. This was the most common version, with production starting in September 1944. It had a much more practical range of 60 m (66 yd), although with a muzzle velocity of only 45 m (148 ft) per second it would take 1.3 seconds for the warhead to reach a tank at that range. To achieve the higher velocity, the tube diameter was increased to 5 cm (2.0 in) and 134 g (4.7 oz) of propellant used. It also had an improved flip-up rear sight and trigger mechanism. The weapon now weighed 6.1 kg (13 lb). It could defeat 200 mm (7.9 in) of armor.

This ingenious throw away Rocket and Launcher was one of AH's last ditch weapons adopted by the NSDAPs to try and repel the invading Allies on both the Eastern and Western fronts.

This BATF-compliant deactivated example is definitely quite a bit different than others we have had before, and is definitely an example of what you do NOT want to happen when you pull the trigger. This definitely looks like it went BOOM when someone tried to fire it, though it's also possible that it was on the ground or maybe got run over. Whatever happened, it blew up, resulting in the launcher tube splitting open and curly back. We have no idea what happened to the warhead itself, but we assume it wasn't good. It may be that this example was set off before having a warhead installed, with the end clip still on. The propellant charge would have been more than enough to do this to the launcher.

Please note the "charge retention screw" on the bottom of the launcher, which is even with the end of the trigger, indicating that this is a 60 m panzerfaust. The 100 m had this screw about 7 inches below the trigger.

This is a very rare example and your chance to own an original panzerfaust 60M launcher that definitely did NOT go off correctly. Ready to display!

Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are NOT considered NFA weapons. This example is in total compliance and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.
