U.S. Winchester Model 1894 Mechanical Film Prop by Daisy Manufacturing Company - As Used In Death Rides A Horse (1966)

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This particular Winchester rifle is a true embodiment of the spirit of the Wild West. The Daisy BB Gun Model 1894 (Winchester) was part of a collection acquired from a prominent Los Angeles prop house. Despite being a Daisy BB Gun Model 1894, it's not uncommon to see these being utilized as props in film productions. This particular model adds an authentic touch to any production seeking to capture the essence of the Wild West.

We have not tested this prop to see if it is still “functional.” While it is a mechanical BB gun, it is being sold simply as a prop/display item and is not intended to be used recreationally. The buttstock and foregrip are constructed out of plastic, while the rest of the rifle is made of sheet steel. Much of the original paint is still present, but as you can see from the photos, there are areas of paint loss.

A wonderful example of the legendary Winchester Model 1894, comes more than ready for display.

NOTE: BB Guns / Pellet Guns are restricted in many areas in the United States. Please check local laws prior to ordering.

Daisy's 1894 marked the company's introduction of the Spittin' Image BB gun. This model was first produced in 1961 and remained in production until 1986. Alongside the standard version, there were numerous commemorative editions. Additionally, Daisy created variations specifically for retailers such as Montgomery Ward and Sears Roebuck.

In 1994, Daisy revisited the 1894 design, releasing a special Commemorative Limited Edition for one year. This particular iteration of the gun featured a manual safety mechanism and deviated from the loading method of the standard rifle.

Winchester Model 1894
The Winchester Model 1894 rifle (also known as the Winchester 94 or Model 94) is a lever-action repeating rifle that became one of the most famous and popular hunting rifles of all time. It was designed by John Browning in 1894 and originally chambered to fire two metallic black powder cartridges, the .32-40 Winchester and .38-55 Winchester. It was the first rifle to chamber the smokeless powder round, the .30 WCF (.30 Winchester Center Fire, in time becoming known as the .30-30 Winchester) in 1895. In 1901, Winchester created the new .32 Winchester Special caliber with production of rifles starting in 1902.

The Model 1894 was produced by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company from 1894 to 1980 and then by U.S. Repeating Arms under the Winchester brand, until they ceased manufacturing rifles in 2006. Reproductions are being made by the Miroku company of Japan and imported into the United States by the Browning Arms company of Morgan, Utah. The Model 1894 has been referred to as the "ultimate lever-action design" by firearms historians such as R. L. Wilson and Hal Herring. The Model 1894 is the rifle credited with the name "Winchester" being used to refer to all rifles of this type and was the first commercial sporting rifle to sell over 7,000,000 units.
