These bayonets were used for the M-56 submachine gun which was closely patterned after the German MP40.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe bayonet features a blued double-edged 7” steel blade, grooved black plastic grip scales and a working bayonet lock and catch on the pommel. The ricasso is stamped \u003cstrong\u003e65374\u003c\/strong\u003e on one side and \u003cstrong\u003e36-189-6\u003c\/strong\u003e on the other. Initially a state-funded product, it was later produced by Zastava Arms and saw use in a number of conflicts following the breakup of former Yugoslavia.
