In October 1934 the DAF was given official status as a sub-section of the NSDAP and in March 1936 it was recognized as an independent NSDAP affiliated association and granted control of its own monetary budget. With this money it was able to procure it's own signs and other insignia.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is a very nice WWII German Labor Front DAF\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003eSchirmmütze\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eor Visor Cap. This particular pattern is also called the\u003cem\u003e Zivil-Mütze\u003c\/em\u003e, as it was used by many of the NSDAP Civic organizations. The front crown of the cap has a very nice The design has an oval  DAF badge in the center, with the organizations \"Mobile Swas in a gear\" emblem over oak leaves. The badge shows some wear and staining, but still retains almost all of the cloth logo. These caps did not feature a cockade on the front of the cap.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe cap shows high quality fabrication, made with\u003cspan\u003e dark navy blue wool, with a black\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e band adorned with embroidered oak leaf designs. It has a traditional high front, with black piping around the crown, and a black \"festival style\" rope chin strap retained by lacquered buttons.\u003c\/span\u003e The visor \/ peak on this looks to be thick black finished natural leather.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe cap is lined with light blue cotton \/ rayon, with a partly intact celluloid diamond on top. Under the diamond is a bronze powder paint DAF logo, which shows some oxidation around the edges. The sweatband is genuine leather, with forehead vents, and is in very good condition. Under neath is a partly deteriorated RZM label, which identifies the cap as a \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eDeutsche Arbeitsfront Mütze\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e (German Labor Front Cap).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe overall condition is very good, with just the usual light sweat staining on the interior of the cap. There is minimal age or mothing, and it displays very nicely.
