Original WWII 1st Marine Division USN Pharmacist Mate Australian Made Jacket - As Seen in Book

Item Description

Original Item: One-of-a-kind. This is an original size 38R Australian manufactured battle jacket worn by a Pharmacist Mate 1st Class who was attached to the First Marine Division (Guadalcanal). This very jacket is featured on pages 128 - 129 in the book Sailors in Forest Green; USN Personnel Attached to the USMC by Jeff Warner. In fact this jacket was purchased by IMA from the estate of Mr. Warner along with much of his personal collection. The jacket has a Made in Australia label on the interior and features an unusual Australian made First Marine Division shoulder patch. The stars on this example are metal and are attached directly to the patch itself. These metal stars were presumably manufactured as ribbon devices. Included with the purchase of this jacket are printed scans of the pages on which it is featured.
