The Mark I knives were Navy issue throughout WW2 and remained in inventory through the Vietnam war. They were purchased in huge quantities so replacements were not needed for many years.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFrom a collecting standpoint the beauty of the Mark I knives is in the wide variety of makers and blades that can be found. As for values, like most things USGI blades are evaluated based on scarcity and condition.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis knife is a nice solid example with all leather grip washers intact and present. The clip-point blade measures 5 1\/8\" with an overall length of 9 5\/8\". The blade is nicely marked on the ricasso with \u003cstrong\u003eU.S.N.\u003c\/strong\u003e on one side, and \u003cstrong\u003eROBESON ShurEdge No. 20\u003c\/strong\u003e on the reverse. The grip has some breakage with loss of material. The original \u003cstrong\u003eU.S.N.\u003c\/strong\u003e marked leather sheath is present but the retaining strap is entirely missing.
