Each round (minus 1) bears either a \u003cstrong\u003e1942\u003c\/strong\u003e or \u003cstrong\u003e1943\u003c\/strong\u003e date on the band that connects the shell and projectile, with \u003cstrong\u003e1943\/1944\u003c\/strong\u003e dates on the base of the shells. The rounds are all similar-looking and make for a fantastic display. Each projectile measures approximately 17 3\/4\" long. The clip the rounds are in is a \u003cstrong\u003eU.S. NAVY BU. ORD\u003c\/strong\u003e. marked example which is also marked with Navy ordnance markings as well as a \u003cstrong\u003e1945 \u003c\/strong\u003edate. Two rounds have holes drilled into the sides of the shells as part of the demilling process.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Bofors 40 mm gun, often referred to simply as the Bofors gun, is an anti-aircraft autocannon designed in the 1930s by the Swedish arms manufacturer AB Bofors.
