This is a genuine WW2 issue wartime model wrist compass, as used by Airborne troops on D-Day. This example is still fully functional, though it has lost some of the liquid dampening fluid (usually water), and is in fair condition with the original issue leather wrist band and partial box. The band is in solid condition with only minor verdigris buildup. There is some residue on the interior glass but otherwise is in good shape. The compass was usually seen worn on the wrist (duh!), but also over the sleeve, the shoulder loops, webbing, or at the ankle over the jump boots.
