San Pedro St. had his own private junction with the Russian air forces at a base in Hungry. Lieutenant Meyers revealed this today at the Army Air Force redistribution center in Santa Monica, telling how he landed his crippled airplane at a Russian Air Force Base on Christmas Day, 1944 to begin a 22 day stay with the Soviet Flyers. With the Fifteenth Air Force in Italy, Lieutenant Myers, son of W Ray Meyers movie actor and director in the days of silent films, was sent on a mission to Brux, Czechoslovakia. Over the target, an oil refinery, flak knocked out one engine of his B-17 leaving him insufficient power to return over the 15,000 foot Alps to his base.
