The M1923 in olive drab #3 ('khaki') was manufactured from 1940-1943. 1943 is typically the transitional year where the color changed from olive drab #3 to #7 (green), but in truth this spanned 1942-1944. This can be seen here with the pouch flaps being the brighter khaki color and the underlying material being OD Green. In 1945 the M1903 stripper clip retaining straps were dropped from the Army contracts.
