Some collectors refer to this as the \"Model 52\" not because it was designed in 1952, but that at one time this gun was part of the International No. 52 marine distress signal kit.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBreak open operation, featuring brass and nickel construction. Embossed on both sides of the crosshatch grip in raised letters: \u003cstrong\u003eINTERNATIONAL FLARE SIGNAL CO. \/ TIPPECANOE CITY OHIO\u003c\/strong\u003e. 10 3\/4 inch overall length with an 8 3\/8 inch barrel. The Black painted steel barrel still retains over 90% of the paint, with just a bit of surface oxidation. Excellent markings and condition with only a few very minor surface blemishes. The right side of the frame is marked with serial number \u003cstrong\u003e15543 \u003c\/strong\u003eand dated \u003cstrong\u003eMAY ‘43\u003c\/strong\u003e. Rarely do these pistols bear wartime dates! In very good overall condition, in complete working order with a functional ejector and the firing pin still present. This example also has a period lanyard attached to the ring.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese flare guns were made for commercial and military wartime use.
