The canteen is in great shape and retains its original carrying strap and the chains on the cap.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe front of the canteen is engraved with a depiction of a ship with smoke bellowing from its funnels, with \u003cstrong\u003eNEU EUROPA\u003c\/strong\u003e on the semi-circle surrounding it, with an anchor as the base. Two American flags fly to the right and left. The top is dated \u003cstrong\u003e1945\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe back of the canteen has a gorgeous and carefully engraved motif of a peacock sitting on a tree branch, with small engravings surrounding it. The bottom right of this side reads \u003cstrong\u003eRUZKIY 1945\u003c\/strong\u003e indicating that this may have been done by a Russian soldier while the original owner was traveling throughout Europe during the war.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe artwork on this canteen is stellar and makes for a phenomenal display.
