The knife is contained within a USN Mark 2 Scabbard.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe ricasso still bears a very faint maker code \u003cstrong\u003eclc \u003c\/strong\u003efor manufacture by \u003cstrong\u003eRichard Abraham Herder of Solingen\u003c\/strong\u003e, the legendary \"City of Blades\" in the mountains of Eastern Germany. The other side is stamped \u003cstrong\u003e64\u003c\/strong\u003e. The pommel was also cut down so it could no longer be used as a bayonet. The blade has been cut down to roughly 6½”, in a sort of Bowie style.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Mark 2 scabbard is in rough condition with the throat showing heavy oxidation, but still being marked \u003cstrong\u003eU.S.N. MK. 2\u003c\/strong\u003e on one side, and \u003cstrong\u003eNORD - 4723 \/ B.M. Co.\u003c\/strong\u003e with a stylized \u003cstrong\u003eV P\u003c\/strong\u003e logo on the other.
