It is complete, functional and in excellent condition. \u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThe Traverse and Elevation “T\u0026amp;E” mechanism is used to engage preselected target areas at night or during degraded light conditions, facilitating accurate fire. When needed, the gunner can quick release the T\u0026amp;E and “free gun” the machine gun, giving the gunner freedom of movement as opposed to fixed movement to engage the targets. These covers were used to protect the M1919 while it was stationary or being moved. The leather cup piece on the side is used to house the pintle so it doesn’t damage the canvas. The cover has definitely been used.
