The group includes two great blood chits, patches, his discharge, bible, some fantastic ephemera, and his Article 96 violation papers which state he was drunk in station on January 30th, 1945 in Chengkung, China, and stole a Jeep along with Sergeant George H. Morris. Thankfully he was found not guilty. What makes this extra funny is that the group includes a photo of him in his A-2 jacket opening a bottle of liquor. He certainly earned his Good Conduct Medal!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCleveland is a direct descendant of both Grover Cleveland, the 22nd and 24th President of the United States, and Moses Cleveland, for whom Cleveland, Ohio is named. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe group includes:\u003cbr\u003e- Official Records folder with tons of original correspondence and documents from his time in service including those related to his Article 96.\u003cbr\u003e- USAAF Pacific Theater Blood Chit - Chinese National Flag. Has temple stamp and is numbered W2504. It measures approximately 7 ⅞ inches by 9 ⅞ inches.\u003cbr\u003e- USAAF Pacific Theater China Burma India Blood Chit - American Flag. It is mounted onto cloth and is numbered 7397. This chit measures approximately 9 ⅝\" x 9 ⅞”.\u003cbr\u003e- New Testament bible, various bits of ephemera and cards. \u003cbr\u003e- Small folder with Certificate of Appreciation for War Service, seven pieces of Chinese currency, including one which is signed by three names and marked souvenir. There are four colorized reprinted photos of him overseas, and in the back there are five original photos including one of him riding an elephant and another of him in the iconic Shearling cap. \u003cbr\u003e- Cleveland’s honorable discharge and separation report with all info. He went overseas on August 2nd, 1943 and returned home November 9th, 1945. Distinguished Unit Badge GO#10 and Good Conduct Medal with Asiatic-Pacific Theater Medal.\u003cbr\u003e- AAF \u0026amp; CBI Patches\u003cbr\u003e- Portrait of Cleveland pre-war in civilian clothes in large leather book frame.\u003cbr\u003e- Separation Qualification Record stating he served with Air Transport Command in the China Theater as AAF Radio Operator and Mechanic. Operated all air force radio equipment in transmitting and receving mesages between air and ground.
