Svihra, 793rd Field Artillery Battalion, U.S. Army, is awarded the Bronze Star medal for meritorious service in England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany, from 18 April 1944 to 29 November 1944, in connection with military operations against the enemy. Captain Svihra, as battalion S-4 and Commanding Officer of the Service Battery, has performed his duties with distinction. He has kept the battalion supplied as completely as the situation permits and maintained a particularly high degree of discipline and morale among his men. Captain Svihra has made an invaluable contribution to the battalion’s effort in its operations against the enemy.
