During World War Two, U.S. forces used three types of dummy .45 ACP training cartridges.  All were designated M1921. The earliest one used a tin-plated brass case with drilled holes and had a dummy primer.  In 1942, the holes were eliminated and the primer pocket was left empty.  The last version used plated steel cases with drilled holes and an empty primer pocket.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe found a very small quantity of the second variation of Model 1921 tin-plated dummies head stamped FA 42.  FA stands for Frankford Arsenal.
