Original U.S. WWII 101st Airborne KIA Dog Tag & Patch Group with 101st Airborne Divisional History Booklet - Harold Harness, 81st AAA Battalion

Original Item. One-of-a-Kind Group. This is the small dog tag and patch grouping of Corporal Harold L. Harness, Battery F, 81st Airborne Anti-Aircraft Battalion, who was killed in action on January 3rd, 1945 in Belgium. According to a note with the group, he was killed by a land mine, and his friend, Paul Starkey, was next to him when he died and recovered his dog tag.

The group includes:
- Harness’ dog tag, reading HAROLD HARNESS / 35110876 T42-43 A / MARY HARNESS / 905 MICH. ST. / HAMMOND IND. P. Good overall shape.
- Two Paratrooper Glider garrison cap patches, good shape.
- 101st Airborne patch and detached rocker.
- 1st Allied Airborne patch.
- Modern printed photo of Harness found online.
- Original WWII photo of Paul Starkey, the soldier who recovered Harness’ dog tag.
- Original 101st Airborne Divisional history booklet, very rare to find on its own. 4 x 5¼” and in great condition.
- Several pages of printed research including many photos of Harness in training and documents. Some sources say he died December 26th, 1944 while online it’s shown as January 3rd, 1945.
