Numerically, it was the main rifle used by the American Expeditionary Forces in Europe during World War I. The Danish Sirius Dog Sled Patrol in Greenland still use the M1917, which performs reliably in Arctic conditions, as their service weapon.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is a very nice lower stock for a U.S. M1917 Enfield rifle, offered in good surplus condition. It has been stripped of all metal components and fittings except for the trigger guard screw sleeves, cross screw and slotted nut in front of the receiver, and the two cross pins, one by the barrel band, and one at the rear of the receiver area. The only marking we can see is what appears to be a letter \u003cstrong\u003eW \u003c\/strong\u003eon the front of the nose and an \u003cstrong\u003eAmerican Eagle\u003c\/strong\u003e over \u003cstrong\u003e503 \u003c\/strong\u003ebehind the rear trigger guard screw hole.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is as we received it, out of long storage, and does show some staining from use, as well as some cracks. There are some nicks and chips in the material but no cracks we can see.
