The cover is also stenciled 2.B.16, likely for Company B of the 2nd Infantry Regiment, 16th item. The securing strap is also marked R.I.A. 1909, a great detail showing that this is a matching set. All components of this entrenching tool are offered in heavily service-used condition. The hanger of the carrier has very heavy oxidation as shown, and there is paint still chipping from the picket pin.
