This is a very nice example of a Model 1917 C.T. Bolo knife, manufactured by the famous Springfield Armory. The main difference in makers is the inclusion of the catch mechanism on the scabbard and grip. This example definitely has been sharpened several times but there is no change in appearance but there are a few tiny nicks to the blade. The main edge of many 1917s, such as this one, is mostly ground from the factory from one side, while the other side was left flat.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe leather tip of the canvas scabbard has a lovely aged chestnut brown color, and it still has the original manufacturer marking clearly visible:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eBRAUER BROS\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e1917\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eScabbard is in good condition and shows only minor signs of service wear.
