This is a fantastic example of the ambidextrous holster by Bianchi known as the M66. This is the first time we have ever had one of these here at IMA and we are pleased to finally be able to offer one. When it comes to M1911 holsters, this one should be at the near top when it comes to experimental ones. The design of this holster was intended to be able to be used by both left and right handed shooter with belt loop attachments on each side. Unfortunately the US Government never opted for Bianchi’s contract to have these mass produced due to them still being partial to the time tested M1911 holster.

The M66 Bianchi military holster was intended for specialized military applications. The symmetrical design allowed its use as a left or right handed holster. The flap unsnaps, swivels out of the way, or removes completely. The holster snaps onto wide belts or slides onto narrow belts and is equally suited to cross draw use.

There is no extensive wear or damage present to the leather or stitching as these were not really put to the test or carried. All markings are crisp and very well stamped with full detail.

A lovely example ready for further research and display.

https://www.ima-usa.com/products/original-u-s-vietnam-war-era-experimental-m66-ambidextrous-leather-holster-by-bianchi-for-the-colt-m1911
