It has been repainted several times on the stocks, and the butt stock was  probably damaged at some point, and then sawed off. This gives it much more of an AKMS profile, which is the version of the AK-47 with the folding butt stock. The original steel support rod can be seen in the cut, and also sticks out the front of the rubber duck a bit. The steel rod helped prevent these training aids from breaking too easily.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese were used for training by the military so they would not ruin a real rifle and as a safety precaution to prevent accidental discharges.
