The M1904 was adopted by the US Army around 1904, during the conversion from black to russet leather. The garrison belt was worn with very few changes until 1942. This belt could be worn with a variety of accessories for either mounted or dismounted duties.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBehind the buckle is the stamp \u003cstrong\u003e38\u003c\/strong\u003e, certainly the size but we can’t say one way or the other which is the size now. One piece of the saber chape is broken and was repaired with a twist tie.
