This example appears to originally have been in flintlock, and was then converted to percussion, probably when the barrel was bored out to become a fowling gun. This was not uncommon, as when the rifling was worn, the accuracy would fall off greatly, so to remain useful, they were turned into shotguns.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe gun has the typical \"half-stock\" seen on these, with attached ramrod pipes. It is in good display condition, and has a very nice full size brass patch box on the right side, opened by a button on the top of the stock. The left butt stock has a very nice cheek piece, with a German Silver inlaid design.
