These pistols are characterized by beautiful traditional manufacturing methods of forging and machining, and are really a thing of beauty.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese pistols were made for Great Britain under the U.S. \"Lend-Lease\" program, which had started before the U.S. officially entered the war. The Mark IV was ordered from H \u0026amp; R by the British Purchasing Commission on 25th September 1941. 15,000 pistols were ordered from the USA, due to the shortage of British manufactured ones.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe top of the machined barrel is marked with the H \u0026amp; R address logo:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eHARRINGTON \u0026amp; RICHARDSON ARMS CO.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e--- WORCESTER, MASS. Breaking open the pistol reveals a serial number of \u003cstrong\u003e11229 \u003c\/strong\u003eon the bottom of the barrel, which matches the numbers on the bottom front of the grip frame and on the breech locking lever. Condition of the pistol is near unissued and excellent.
