This is a very nice WWII likely McCord M1 Helmet shell which was depot-refinished for use during the Korean War. The helmet is matched with a fine Korean War CAPAC Westinghouse liner. The OD Green helmet cover is a great Korean War example and is in lovely condition. The shell also has the correct green T1 chinstrap.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is a very nice example of an early 1950s issue M1 Helmet as used during the early Vietnam Conflict. The shell has swivel bales and a manganese steel rim with a rear seam. There is an incomplete heat lot stamp of \u003cstrong\u003e178A\u003c\/strong\u003e. It is fitted with a correct Korean war T1 style chin strap, which uses bent metal brackets to attach to the \"bales\", and also has a separate connector in the buckle, designed to break if put under excessive strain, preventing injury.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe helmet is complete with a late issue, Korean War Era, \"High Pressure\" liner and leather chinstrap, with a \u003cstrong\u003eCAPAC \u003c\/strong\u003estamp on the crown over the Westinghouse \u003cstrong\u003eW \u003c\/strong\u003elogo with\u003cstrong\u003e 51 52\u003c\/strong\u003e around the CAPAC logo, likely denoting a 1951-1952 date. The liner has retained most of its original paint. The interior has clean OD7 Olive Drab HBT Webbing secured by blacked “A”-Washers. The sweatband is present with heavy wear.
