The clock is currently \u003cb\u003enonfunctional\u003c\/b\u003e. Also included is the original key which is marked \u003cb\u003e\u003ci\u003eChelsea\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e. The latches of the box are marked for the \u003cb\u003e\u003ci\u003eEagle Lock Company of Terryville, Connecticut\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eChelsea’s serial-number records place \u003cb\u003e586921 within the 559241–598659 range assigned to 1950–1954\u003c\/b\u003e. The Chelsea Clock Museum notes that these serial ranges reflect approximate sale dates rather than exact production dates, so the individual clock could potentially vary somewhat within that period, but the serial firmly supports a \u003cb\u003eKorean War-era attribution\u003c\/b\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe clock face measures 6 inches in diameter. The box measures 9\" W x 4.5\" D x 10\" H. The US Army used these from WW2 to the Vietnam War and were used in the field to mark the time when a message was received. There is a small remnant of the strap but it is mostly gone. From the later serial number of this example, it could date anywhere from the Korean War to Vietnam, but we cannot say for sure.
