These were intended to be a loose-fitting garment for wear in the field, as opposed to a tailored parade uniform, these were utilitarian by design.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe coat is fully lined with two internal pockets. Inside the left sleeve lining it is faintly marked as being supplied by the \u003cstrong\u003eJefferson Quartermaster Depot\u003c\/strong\u003e. Both the manufacturer stamp and inspector stamps are visible but unfortunately unable to be completely read.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFive-Button Front, each button is of the General Staff 1832-1902 pattern buttons, unmarked.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOne of the longest worn uniforms in U.S. Army History was the Fatigue Blouse, or Sack Coat. Having been worn from the 1850s up unto 1902 in one form or another. The Dark Blue Fatigue Blouse is synonymous with the image of the typical U.S. Army soldier of the 19th Century.
