Stamped at bottom center of the flap is \u003cstrong data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eWATERTOWN ARSENAL 1864.\u003c\/strong\u003e The box still has the closure tab and brass finial at the bottom. One roller buckle are present on the bottom of the box. The reverse of the box has both belt and shoulder strap loops still intact. \u003cstrong\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e These were designed so the box could have been worn on the soldier’s belt or on a sling, whichever the soldier preferred. The inner flap is in fine shape and has both ears.
