Black bridle leather is used to make the holster and shows signs of age. The flap and belt loop are separate pieces that are sewn to the back separately. The front of the flap has very faint unit\/roster stampings, which appear to be a \u003cstrong\u003e4 over 42\u003c\/strong\u003e. The 42 is much clearer as the leather wearing away has made the 4 very faint.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eThree rivets and a double line of stitching secure the belt loop, which is fragile but still unbroken! The leather plug is now missing from the bottom of the holster. On the body under the front flap is stamped:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eJ.
