Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. We just received this lovely Antique Converted musket, along with about 200 other guns, from a collection that sat in an attic for close to 100 years. This percussion musket was probably imported into the United States in the late 1850's, most likely by the Confederate States for use against the Yankees in the Civil War. This musket was made in Switzerland and still bears the Swiss Regimental markings on the trigger guard bow.
After seeing service in the military the musket was altered by trimming the fore stock half way back for use as a hunting gun and for personal protection. Nice condition with some Swiss Arsenal signature on the lock which is just about unreadable. Its nipple and rear sight are now also absent.
From long term storage this is a good candidate for restoration and after a good cleaning for display!
